Starting pitcher Matt Nyholm fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Maine Lobster stymie the Houston Aquas, 5-2. Maine reliever Gerald Blackman snagged the win, upping his record to 7-7. Ron Gelsomino shouldered the loss. Maine's winning streak has reached 4 games.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when designated hitter Jacob Testaverde, who finished 2nd in the EC in on-base percentage with .425 in 2080, hit a double. The Lobster went on to win.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Testaverde told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
