The Vancouver Wolves called upon starter Juan Pinon, and he delivered, leading his team to victory over the Chicago Phantoms, 4-2. Tom Valine snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Cursive DeMarco suffered the loss. Getting the save was Timmo MacDonald, his 1st.

Vancouver took a 4-2 lead on Ken Draves's 31st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Draves hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chicago pitcher Cursive DeMarco visibly frustrated.

Draves called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
