Las Vegas Drops San Francisco, 7-3
|
Las Vegas beat San Francisco on the strength of starting pitcher Arturo Covarrubias's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. Las Vegas is now 78-73, San Francisco 93-58.
Las Vegas used the stroke of Vicente Ramos to get the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Aces ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Ramos told a Las Vegas Chronicle reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
