Friars Chop Down Aces, 6-0

The San Francisco Friars got a strong performance from pitcher Filiberto Ciriaco. Cap stymied the Las Vegas offense en route to a solid, 6-0 win at Staples Field. In 6 innings, Ciriaco surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. The loss makes Las Vegas 74-77.
Minoru Kume had a big 2-run triple for the Friars in the bottom of the second inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Billy Zaffuto and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 7th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Friars ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Ciriaco.
