Greens Win Nail-Biter in 12
|
In a close game at Arrington Park, the Boston Greens edged the Brooklyn Browns, 4-3, in 12 innings. Boston right fielder Adam Fleming stood apart with his performance. He went 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. The winner in relief was Orosmani Ottamendi. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 5-4. Boston, at 75-75, holds down 4th place in the Eastern Conference Paul Pagac Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Boston left fielder Steve Stout, facing Harold Ruspoli, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Greens the 4-3 win.
Boston manager Matt Glazer praised his team's "businesslike approach."
