Rangers Get Close Win Over Juggernauts, 4-3
|
Toronto got a valiant performance from pitcher Roberto Ruiz, but it wasn't enough to beat the Buffalo Rangers. Buffalo won the game, 4-3. Ruiz threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. Buffalo reliever D.J. Harkins picked up the win, upping his record to 7-13. Julio Soto was saddled with the loss. The win makes Buffalo 78-72.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Buffalo pinch hitter Katsuji Kanda, facing Morgan California, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rangers the 4-3 win.
"We were the better team," crowed Kanda.
