3-2 Win Gets Portland to 79-72
The Portland Dragons got a marvelous performance from pitcher Matt Pontius. The left-hander kept the Seattle offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Portland victory at Portland Park. Jimmy Witmer snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Alex Zapien suffered the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Portland was Carlos Rodriguez.

Portland took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Xadreque Esperana hit a 2-run single to make it 3-1, Dragons.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Pontius told the Portland Observer.

Their 79-72 record puts the Dragons third in the Western Conference John Sexton Division.
