Greens Nudge Past Browns, 8-7
|
In a tight contest at Arrington Park, the Boston Greens edged the Brooklyn Browns by the score of 8-7. Boston first baseman Dan Brophy, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Maurice Long snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Wade Belk suffered the loss. Boston is now 67-82.
Nestor Pena was the walk-off hero for Boston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Greens left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Brophy said.
