The Chicago Phantoms could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Felix Talamantez into a win. Instead, the Las Vegas Aces prevailed, 4-3. Talamantez threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. J.P. McNealy got the save, his 21st in 22 chances. Las Vegas is now 74-76.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jessie Bouchard? The 25-year old second baseman Bouchard stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put Las Vegas up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
