Destroyers Topple Cyclones, 7-2
San Diego turned a good performance from starting pitcher Elmo Fasanaro into a 7-2 triumph over the Miami Cyclones at Seaward Stadium. The first-place Cyclones dropped to 24-15.

The Destroyers got a big at-bat from first baseman Cesar Valles. For the game, Valles went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave San Diego a 3-2 lead.

San Diego manager Steve Alstadt was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys went out there and put good wood on the ball," he said.
