Kings Win, 7-4
|
New York third baseman Joji Mukai had a good game, even if his team did not. The Titans dropped a 7-4 decision to Baltimore at Polo Grounds II. Mukai was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike Pechtel, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The last-place Kings are now 61-88, the Titans 101-47.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Keinosuke Wakabayashi? The Baltimore third baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Kings on top, 2-0. For the game, Wakabayashi had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Wakabayashi.
