Arrows Turn Back Glaciers, 5-4
|
The Seattle Arrows faced a tough opponent in Denver pitcher Tetsukazu Kaneda, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Power Ballpark by a final score of 5-4. Kaneda went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Seattle reliever Hugo Mesinas picked up the win to move to 5-3. Ringo Pineiro suffered the loss. The third-place Arrows hiked their record to 69-79.
Ryan Jarnagin, who is tied for 7th in the WC with a .392 on-base percentage, helped out the Seattle cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Denver manager Todd Bleess.
