Late Rally by Rangers Secures 8-6 Win
The Buffalo Rangers beat the Havana Metropolitanos, 8-6, at Estadio Latinoamericano. Willy Amavizca, who led the EC in triples with 16 in 2076, starred for Buffalo. He was 3-5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Hector Venni, who finished 5th in the EC in ERA with 2.78 in 2073, earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 7-4. This win makes it 5 in a row for Buffalo.

Buffalo won the game in part because of Al Lindberg. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rangers ahead, 8-6. For the game, Lindberg had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"They had a good approach," Havana skipper Kevin Mayerhofer said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
