Pantoja Stars in 7-2 Phantoms Win
|
No one was more impactful than Javier Pantoja in the 7-2 Chicago win over Minneapolis. Pantoja, who is on pace to hit 47 home runs this season, was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Ingo Jentzsch earned the win to go to 5-1. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. The Phantoms raised their record to 32-9.
Rodolfo Tapia had a big 2-run triple for the Phantoms in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Chicago leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Hector Moreno, who is tied for 9th in the WC in wins with 4, and swatted a triple to center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Phantoms ahead, 5-2.
Tapia attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
