Victors Again, Miami Win Streak at 12
|
The Miami Cyclones faced a tough opponent in Brooklyn pitcher Wade Belk, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Brown Town by a final score of 6-5. Belk went 5.2 innings and allowed 5 runs. The winning pitcher was Juan Casanas. His record now stands at 7-10. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 5 runs on 11 hits for the Cyclones. Miami, having won 12 in a row, is now 80-68.
Henry McAfee, the Miami third baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 6-3, Cyclones. For the game, McAfee went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"The positive vibes are all around the clubhouse," said Cyclones manager Chris Stephan. "Once you see a player having a good at-bat, that's really contagious."
