Phantoms Top Friars, 4-2
|
The Chicago Phantoms got a stellar performance from pitcher Earl Diaz, who handcuffed the San Francisco offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Foster Field. With the win, the Phantoms have a record of 98-49.
Solano Antas had a big 2-run home run for the Phantoms in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chicago leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Lyalya Markosiants, who is tied for 5th in the WC in triples with 7, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Phantoms on top, 4-0.
Diaz called the win "a collective effort."
