The Baltimore Kings topped the Washington Senators, 7-3, with youngster Francisco Mateus playing a key role. Mateus went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Kings in the win. The loss makes Washington 57-90.
Robbie Klabunde, who is tied for 4th in the EC with a .312 batting average, aided the Baltimore cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder went 2-5 with 2 singles.
"It feels good to get this one," Klabunde told the Baltimore Daily News.
