Avispas Win 4th Straight, Take Down Greens, 6-3
|
Santiago center fielder Hahn Eckert made his presence felt in the 6-3 Avispas triumph over the Boston Greens. Eckert was 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Teh-huai Yap, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. With the win, Santiago goes to 4-0.
Eckert had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-1 fastball from Marc Diamond, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Avispas a 5-3 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Eckert.
"Nervous? No," said Eckert. "It was my time to shine."
