Miami Tags Montreal with 3-2 Defeat

Both teams had their chances, but the Miami Cyclones eventually prevailed.
The Miami Cyclones defeated the Montreal Harfangs, 3-2, at Mount Royal Park. Henry McAfee was a standout performer for Miami. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 1 he knocked in. Sergej van Anrooij earned the save for Miami, his 11th of the year.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Shane Ausmus? The 25-year old catcher Ausmus stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Miami up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Cyclones manager Chris Stephan. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
Miami's record now stands at 89-58, placing them first in the Eastern Conference Antonio Detorres Division.
