Guilzar Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Seattle
|
Portland designated hitter Alex Guilzar had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Guilzar went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 3, even as Seattle beat the Dragons, 6-5. The winning pitcher was Honey Geier. He tossed 101 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 3 hits. The win makes Seattle 68-79.
Seattle used the hitting of Dave Rivera to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Arrows on top, 6-0. For the game, Rivera had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
