Destroyers Tack 3-0 Loss on Glaciers
|
The San Diego Destroyers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Gary Banks, who muffled the Denver offense en route to a tight 3-0 Destroyers win at Mountain Dew Park. Banks, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. San Diego now sits at 74-72, while Denver falls to 72-74.
The Destroyers got a big hit from right fielder Jose Gonzales. In the top of the fifth, Gonzales pounded a solo home run to right. His 6th home run of the season put the Destroyers ahead, 2-0.
"Feels good to get the job done," Gonzales said after the game.
