Thunderbirds Deal Toros 6-2 Defeat
The Phoenix Thunderbirds picked up a win at Legednary Park, downing the Tucson Toros, 6-2. On the mound for Phoenix was right-hander Yeniet Miranda, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Thunderbirds saw their win-loss record go to 73-73. At the same time, the Toros fell to 85-61.

Joaquin Yanqui had a big 2-run double for the Thunderbirds in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Phoenix leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Dunieski Vazquez, who finished 4th in the WC in strikeouts with 221 in 2075, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 37th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Thunderbirds ahead, 6-2.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Yanqui said after the game.
