In a tight contest between the St. Louis Gaedels and the Miami Cyclones, Carlos Yturralde was the determining factor. The St. Louis right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. With the win over Miami, the Gaedels improved to 77-69.

St. Louis used a timely hit from Wayne Curran to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gaedels ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Yturralde.
