Mrazek Rips 2 Home Runs in 4-3 Senators Triumph
|
The Washington Senators defeated the Baltimore Kings, 4-3. Left Fielder Danny Mrazek deserved a large share of the credit. Mrazek was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Senators. Washington reliever Gigi Cuzzocrea picked up the win to move to 1-3. Marc Diamond suffered the loss. Picking up the save was 28-year old left-handed pitcher Julio Mendoza.
Mrazek had a timely hit for Washington in the top of the eighth. With Washington trailing 3-2, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Washington.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Senators manager Josh Cooan. "This one was nice to get."
Today's win puts Washington at 57-89, while Baltimore falls to 76-69.
