Kansas City Loss Takes Shine Off Horn Performance
Stars Ballpark was the site for Western Conference action featuring the Kansas City Athletics and Los Angeles Stars.

Kansas City first baseman Chris Horn pounded Los Angeles Stars pitchers at Stars Ballpark, but it was not enough to keep the Athletics from falling, 10-7. Horn was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Jimmy Oyola. He tossed 120 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 7 runs on 4 hits. Touta Kubo was called on to finish, recording his 9th save.

Los Angeles shortstop Eliecer Arruebarrena contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With two down, he hit a changeup to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 126th hit of the season and put the Stars ahead, 10-7.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Los Angeles skipper Pat Kaers.
