The San Diego Destroyers beat the Denver Glaciers, 5-3, at Seaward Stadium. The win was due in part to designated hitter Jose Pedroza, who was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, San Diego goes to 72-73, while the Glaciers fall to 87-58.
San Diego got a knockout punch from Tom Sarmiento. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This stadium was a-rockin'," said Sarmiento.
