The Buffalo Rangers beat the Maine Lobster, 8-6, at Bison Stadium. Buffalo right fielder Jose Puga led the way. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Buffalo reliever Ricardo Alas snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mike Pechtel shouldered the loss. Getting the save was Ivan Rivas, his 1st.

Willy Amavizca drove in one run for Buffalo. The four-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Mike Pechtel. It was his 45th RBI of the season.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Amavizca told the Buffalo Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."

Buffalo bumps their record to 81-64 with the win.
