The exploits of left fielder Salvador Aguilera helped the Minneapolis Vikings defeat the Los Angeles Stars, 5-2. Aguilera was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Shunsen Maekawa snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-6 on the season. Jimmy Oyola suffered the loss. Phil Payne earned the save for Minneapolis, his 21st.

Chris Goudie helped out the Minneapolis cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Goudie.

The last-place Vikings lifted their record to 58-87.
