Floundering Angels Lose 7th Straight
|
The Vancouver Wolves got a good effort from starter Jose Uresti in defeating the San Antonio Angels at Tesoro Stadium. The final score was 6-1. The winner was Vancouver reliever Victor Sotolongo, now 1-0. The loser was Arthur Gordon. San Antonio is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
Vancouver used the clutch hitting of Jorge Santiago to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Wolves ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Santiago.
