Seattle Still On the Schneid After 5-4 Loss to Dragons
Seattle got a terrific game from first baseman Tim Thaxton. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Portland, 5-4. Thaxton was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Carlos Rodriguez. He tossed 99 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits. Justin Kurth finished to wrap up his 19th save.

The Dragons got a big at-bat from center fielder Du Kau. For the game, Kau went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Portland a 4-2 lead.

"I was a little disappointed," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

This loss makes it 6 in a row for Seattle.
