The Las Vegas Aces bested the Kansas City Athletics, 7-5, at Western Coliseum. Walter Straws was one of the standouts. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Jake Latimer notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. Pierre Prent earned the save, his 1st, for the Aces.

With Las Vegas leading 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Straws hit a curveball from Gerald Tanton for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Aces ahead, 7-2.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Straws told a Las Vegas Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Kansas City has now lost 4 consecutive games.
