Aquas Take Down Phantoms, 7-3
|
Houston starter Antonio Equihua pitched well against the Chicago Phantoms at Foster Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3, in 12 innings. Yasuhiro Katayama got credit for the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The first-place Aquas have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
Houston used the timely hitting of Steve Strong to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Aquas on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Antonio pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Houston manager Brandon Coroian.
