Victory Pushes Aces Record to 84-60
The Las Vegas Aces took San Francisco pitcher Cruz Ponce's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Staples Field. The final score had Las Vegas getting past the Friars, 6-2. Ponce went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. The winner was Las Vegas reliever Freddie Fel, now 5-7. The loser was Hector Jimenez. The win hiked the Las Vegas record to 84-60.

Brian Zeeff's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Las Vegas. Coming to bat with no one out, runners on 2nd and 3rd and Las Vegas trailing 2-0, the shortstop hit a 2-run single.

In comments to the Las Vegas Citizen, Zeeff admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
