Pfau Lifts Thunderbirds to 7-2 Win
Phoenix first baseman Rickey Pfau had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Kansas City Athletics, 7-2. Phoenix reliever John Intriago picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Alex Hernandez was saddled with the loss. The Thunderbirds go to 78-64, putting them second in the Western Conference Brian Boots Division.

Sem Vreke had a big 2-run home run for the Thunderbirds in the top of the third inning. With Phoenix leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Hernandez and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Thunderbirds on top, 4-0.

"We had a nice day," said Phoenix skipper Joe Busch.
