Vikings Saddle Destroyers with 7-4 Loss
At Minneapolis Grounds, the San Diego Destroyers and Minneapolis Vikings were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

A 3-RBI performance from Roy Cunningham helped the Minneapolis Vikings beat the San Diego Destroyers, 7-4. Zee-loo Kim got the save, the 33rd for him this season.

Minneapolis designated hitter Gentaro Arakawa contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 160th hit of the season and put the Vikings ahead, 6-4.

"This was a nice win for us," said Arakawa. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The Vikings improved their record to 85-57 by beating San Diego.
