The Cincinnati Twins beat the St. Louis Gaedels, 4-3, in part because of designated hitter Matt Lawson. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. The third-place Twins are now 72-70, the Gaedels 74-68.
