New York Grabs 2-1 Road Win
|
The Washington Senators got a superb performance from pitcher Eliecer Cervantes, but the New York Titans still won the game, 2-1. Cervantes threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. New York reliever Ed Picard was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Eliecer Cervantes. The save was credited to Keung King, his 5th.
Leonelkis Prieto, who is tied for 8th in the EC in stolen bases with 30, had a direct impact on the outcome. Prieto contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put New York up, 1-0.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said New York manager Nate Beckman.
