Minneapolis's Asano Gets 2500th Hit
Tohru Asano's bat made good contact with the ball as he has many times in his career, but this time it added his name to an elite list of players with 2500 hits.

"This is a tremendous honor. You grow up dreaming of becoming a Rising Star League player, but never did I ever think I would get to this point," an emotional Asano said after the game.

The Minneapolis designated hitter went to the plate 4 times and racked up 3 hits to gain the honor. But the Vikings couldn't pull off a win -- they fell to the Portland Dragons, 2-1.

"It certainly would have been nice to have won, but tomorrow is another day. I'm going to enjoy this moment with my friends and family," Asano said.

In 2133 games, Asano is a lifetime .304 hitter. He has knocked in 1312 runs, scored 1491 times, hit 385 home runs, walked 766 times and has an on-base percentage of .377.
