Arrows Slip Past Denver, 5-4
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Seattle Arrows and Denver Glaciers.
The Seattle Arrows faced a tough opponent in Denver pitcher Earl Starr, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mountain Dew Park by a final score of 5-4. Starr went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Felipe Diaz, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-8. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Garrett Gutierrez converted his 7th save in 13 tries.
Seattle used a timely hit from Keverne Brady to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Arrows ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"It never gets old," said Brady. "Winning, that is."
Seattle is now 68-72, Denver 72-68.
