The Washington Senators picked up a win at The ESPN Zone, knocking off the Cincinnati Twins, 4-2. On the mound for Washington was left-hander Axel Maisonneuve. He played a key role in the triumph. Maisonneuve yielded 2 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-7. Keung King earned the save for Washington, his 29th of the year.
Alex Gado, who finished 4th in the EC in stolen bases with 34 last year, helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3.
"We have a lot of confidence in Axel," said Washington manager Josh Cooan.
