Salvatore Pino was in top form in a tight contest between San Francisco and Chicago. The Friars right-hander helped his team beat the Phantoms, 2-1. Brian Burda picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Jose Bustillo suffered the loss. Joe Drum converted his 15th save in 17 tries.
Rod Inzunza was 1-2 for San Francisco. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Franklin Lastre. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"We had a good game plan," Pino said, "and we were able to execute it."
San Francisco is now 72-68, Chicago 74-66.
