Kodiaks Lose By a Run at San Diego
|
The San Diego Destroyers withstood a fine game by Alaska second baseman Adir Barrabi at Seaward Stadium, to upend the Kodiaks, 8-7. Barrabi was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. San Diego now owns a record of 60-80.
Brian Wooten had a big solo home run for the Destroyers in the bottom of the eighth inning. With San Diego leading 7-4 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Lan-fang Lai and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Destroyers on top, 8-4.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said San Diego manager Steve Alstadt.
