The Minneapolis Vikings converted a terrific effort from starter Andy Doncaster into a win over the Portland Dragons at Minneapolis Grounds. The Vikings won the game by a final score of 4-2. Minneapolis, now 55-84, holds down last place in the Western Conference Brian Boots Division.

Tony Pineda had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the Minneapolis right fielder hit a 2-run single. That put the Vikings in front, 3-1.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Doncaster.
