Juggernauts Sneak By Wolves, 6-5
|
The Toronto Juggernauts overcame a good performance by Vancouver first baseman Tony Bosques to knock off Vancouver, 6-5, in 17 innings at Fox-Chong Park. Bosques was 3 for 7 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Toronto reliever Dan May picked up the win to move to 2-1. Tom Valine suffered the loss. The Juggernauts improved their record to 61-77 with the win over Vancouver.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Caleb Graham to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 17th inning to put the Juggernauts on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a test of wills," said Marc Arnold, the Toronto skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
