Edgar Malhado did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Denver Glaciers from being beaten, 5-3, to the Portland Dragons at Portland Park. Malhado went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Portland reliever Jimmy Witmer picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. James L'Hommedieu absorbed the loss. The Dragons have a one-game lead in the Western Conference John Sexton Division.

Portland took a 4-3 lead on Felix Sanchez's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Sanchez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Denver pitcher James L'Hommedieu visibly frustrated.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Sanchez.
