Spectres Stay Hot, Beat Aces, 6-4
|
The Philadelphia Spectres downed the Las Vegas Aces, 6-4, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Vincent Horvers led the way, going 2-for-4 for Philadelphia. Earning his 30th save of the year was Alberto Zamora. The Aces, now 67-71, have lost 4 in a row.
Ron Gideon had a big 2-run double for the Spectres in the bottom of the second inning. With Philadelphia leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Tae-sang Shinn, who is tied for 8th in the WC with a 8.6 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to left. It was his 26th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Spectres ahead, 4-1.
"This team is real focused right now," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
