The Alaska Kodiaks cut down the Tucson Toros by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Matthew Hinojosa. Hinojosa was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Kodiaks. The first-place Kodiaks improved to 78-60.
Bitgaram Mangjeol went 1-3 for Alaska. The two-time Gold Glove Award winner had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Felix Talamantez. It was his 47th RBI of the season.
"Winning is always a team effort," Hinojosa said after the game.
