Miami pitcher Bobby Edwards did his part in helping his team defeat the Brooklyn Browns, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Picking up the save was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ricardo Riveron. The defeat makes Brooklyn 74-61.

Bobby Aguinaga dealt the Browns a blow in the top of the ninth. Batting with the bases loaded and Miami leading 2-1, Aguinaga, who is tied for 4th in the EC in bases on balls with 83, hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Miami skipper Chris Stephan.
