Friars Beat Angels in 11
|
The San Francisco Friars snuck past the San Antonio Angels, 2-1, in 11 innings. San Francisco pitcher Doug Lovelace, in particular, had a standout performance. San Francisco reliever Chris Isaacks was the winner. His record is now 7-2. David Klontz took the loss. San Francisco is 86-50 and San Antonio, with the loss, 79-57.
The Friars got a clutch hit from shortstop Edilse Gavilan. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Friars.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Gavilan told the San Francisco Today. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
