The Vancouver Wolves took San Francisco pitcher Kelvin Vaquera's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Fox-Chong Park. The final score had Vancouver getting past the Friars, 6-5. Vaquera went 7 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 4. Vancouver now sports a record of 63-74.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Vancouver first baseman Tony Bosques, facing Bill Zamora, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Wolves the 6-5 win.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Bosques told the Vancouver Herald.
