Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the San Diego Destroyers and Minneapolis Vikings.

The San Diego Destroyers defeated the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-1, at Seaward Stadium. Leading the charge for San Diego was designated hitter Asa Hornyak. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win makes San Diego 58-79.

Early in the game, Hornyak had a 3-run home run for San Diego. It was his 27th home run of the season and put the Destroyers on top, 3-0.
