Arrows Dealt 5-3 Loss by Alaska
|
The Alaska Kodiaks beat the Seattle Arrows, 5-3, at Tundradome. Alderaan Pike went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The 28-year old third baseman was a menace to Seattle all day. Les Ralph got the win, improving to 9-7. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Earning the save was Juneau Beauchamp. He's now cashed in 6 of 11 save opportunities.
Tillmam Velado had a big solo home run for the Kodiaks in the bottom of the third inning. With Alaska leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a sinker from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Zapien and swatted a home run to left. It was his 35th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kodiaks ahead, 3-1.
Said losing manager Dr. Jay Siber: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
With the win, the Kodiaks have a record of 70-66.
